56 days to go!!
I wouldn’t say I was a particularly high maintenance person, I like a good bath and a bit of makeup, but I will not die if you steal my straighteners. So I have shocked myself recently when I have found the thing that I am worrying most about the expedition, apart from the flights – scary as hell, is hygiene.
We are on the expedition for 35 days, without toilets or showers ect. so I have been trying to plan how I am going to try and keep myself partially clean. I got laughed at by some friends when I asked if there was a chance I could shave my legs, so I have almost removed shaving from the plan – almost.
But I have been thinking of the baby wipe bath scenario, I have two arms, two legs and a middle bit, therefore about 5 wipes needed per wash, an average packet of baby wipes contains 30 wipes. This would mean that each packet of wipes would last for six washes, and if I am washing myself at least once a day, this would mean I would need six packets of wipes.
I would also like to wash my face with face wipes every morning and evening, meaning that I would need 70 face wipes, there is around 20 wipes in a packet, meaning that I would need four packets. This brings my wipe total up to ten packets, taking up a lot of room and weight.
All of this takes up room in my bag, which I probably do not have. Not to mention all the other little things that i will more than likely bring ‘just in case’. So I was wondering if anybody has any methods or tips on how to not have this much stuff, but still stay in a condition that I wouldn’t mind?
